1960 ***** 109 mins.

Based upon a novel by Robert Bloch, Psycho follows the journey of a woman named Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) as she steals $40,000 and heads out to meet up with her boyfriend and run away with him. However, a dark, rainy night in the middle of nowhere causes her destination to change rather abruptly. Directed with a skill that Hitchcock never showed before or since, Psycho is a film all its own, with a fantastic cast, lush black and white cinematography, a searing, classic score, and all its pieces put perfectly into place.
