OLIVER STONE'S AMERICA

2001 ***1/2 52 mins.

This hour-long interview with Oliver Stone is a truly fascinating one, especially for fans of the director's work. The interviewer doesn't say much or ask many questions; this is mostly just the auteur talking about his films and his ideologies. It's definitely worth watching, and I thoroughly enjoy listening Oliver Stone talk. He's a fascinating individual with a very knowledgeable mind. The main drawback of this video presentation, though, is the aspect ratio on the clips from Any Given Sunday are stretched vertically, into a 1.85:1 ratio, instead of being presented in their native 2.35:1 ratio. All the other clips are fine and dandy, though.
Original home video aspect ratio: 1.33:1 (film clips are in their original ratios, except Any Given Sunday, as mentioned prior).
Rated R.

Starring:
Oliver Stone

Charles Kiselyak
