The Warriors is a must-see action film that is a powerhouse adventure from beginning to end. I hate that it took me so long to finally watch it. Inspired by Greek folklore, the film begins with representatives of several gangs in a futuristic New York City all meeting to listen to a man named Cyrus and form a truce. Someone then shoots and kills Cyrus, and pins the blame on The Warriors. In the pandemonium, The Warriors escape and must make the journey to their turf on Coney Island, encountering rival gangs and other adventures along the way. It's a film you'll definitely want in your personal library, to watch over and over again. There are two versions of the film. The Director's Cut, which is the version most easily available, adds a new introduction to the film and a lot of comic book-style transitions between scenes. Some say these help the film, some say they detract from the film. Whichever version you prefer is purely your choice, for each version is still a five-star masterpiece.
