1973 **** 130 mins.
This fun, entertaining film about two con men trying to pull off the ultimate con won the Oscar for Best Picture. The performances are stellar, and Robert Redford and Paul Newman are exceptionally wonderful. The music was my favorite part of the film, as well as the illustrated intertitles, sectioning off the film. My main problem with the film was its length. It seemed to go on way too long for the relatively simple story it had to tell.
