THE KING OF KINGS
1927 Version runs 155 mins.
1928 Version runs 112 mins.
One of the best films I've ever seen about Jesus, this silent epic from master filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille is beautiful and powerful from beginning to end. To get the full effect, one needs to watch the longer version of the film, as it is much more impressive than the shorter version, which seemed to go by too quickly. Plus, the color sequences are striking and only present in the longer version.
