The first time I watched The Godfather, I wasn't all that impressed. Watching it now, though, I can't help but adore it. It's a beautifully shot and constructed film about a mafia family and their moral values. First-rate performances by a top-notch cast serve the film wonderfully, and the impeccable direction by Francis Ford Coppola give the film a flow that causes the nearly three-hour running time to just fly by. An undeniable masterpiece based on a fantastic novel by Mario Puzo, who co-wrote the screenplay.
