When DC released the animated Death of Superman, the back cover stated, "A Sneak Peek at DC Universe's Next Animated Movie: Reign of the Supermen." I became giddy with excitement! I've read the entire Death of Superman, World Without a Superman, and The Return of Superman story arc, and I think I was immediately more excited for this one than I was for The Death of Superman. On the most part, it was worth the wait. This sequel has a lot of the same problems The Death of Superman had, but the good outweighs the bad. Same cast, same filmmakers, same level of quality. The dialogue is still witty and fresh, the humor is still good-natured, and the excitement is visceral and worth every penny. In the months after Superman's death, four other "Supermen" have appeared. One is a teenage clone, engineered by Lex Luthor, one is a doctor who has fashioned a steel uniform for himself, one is a mostly robotic Superman, and one goes by the name, The Eradicator. Each one embodies a different facet of Superman's personality, each one to the extreme. Where is the real Superman? His tomb is empty, but none of these "Supermen" could be the real Superman...could they?!
