2018 **** 95 mins.
When I was a kid, my grandmother collected Peter Rabbit memorabilia. So, I grew up hearing all the Beatrix Potter tales about Peter, Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail, and mean old Mr. McGregor. So, when I found out there was a new movie coming out, my immediate reaction was one of disdain and skepticism. The initial teaser trailer was appalling, but when the final theatrical trailer was released, I thought it looked rather cute. The film far surpassed "cute," and was adorable and endearing. There are lots of laugh-out-loud moments, and the film is genuinely smart in a lot of ways. I especially like the birds that come in and out throughout the film; they always garner a good laugh! Beatrix Potter fans old and new will simply love this film. I guarantee it!
Original theatrical aspect ratio: 2.35:1 (Digital)
