Titanic meets 2001: A Space Odyssey in this beautiful film from the director of The Imitation Game. A ship with 5000 passengers is making a 120-year voyage to a new planet, so we can begin colonizing it. After flying through an asteroid field, one man's hibernation pod malfunctions, and he wakes up 90 years too early. It's a simple movie, both haunting and gorgeous. Sure, it's got plenty of plot holes to keep you wondering long after the credits have scrolled, but allow the required suspension of disbelief to take you over, and you'll find yourself so engulfed in the situation and in love with the characters, you won't bother about the continuity and factual errors that plague the film. It's a great adventure film, as well as a heartfelt romance. There aren't many films out there like this one, and it should be cherished.
Original theatrical aspect ratio: 2.35:1 (ArriRaw)
