Live concerts can easily be divided into two categories: before Michael Jackson and after Michael Jackson. I had this realization while watching this film. Michael Jackson's Dangerous tour was the biggest in history. It took three days to set up the venue for the show. The audience in this film is massive. Michael's showmanship is so large, he commands the entire stage without even needing backup dancers or pyrotechnics, so they had to be amped up to even stand a chance against his incredible talents. Look at a lot of concerts today: full of showmanship, pyrotechnics, and the like, obviously taking a page out of Jackson's book. Jackson truly is a feast for the eyes. Watching this film is truly an unforgettable experience. It's the closest most of us will ever get to actually seeing him perform live. Watching this film feels like a privilege, and it's a privilege I'm sure to experience again and again.
