I must admit that I was rather disappointed with this film. I was very anxious to see it, and when I did, it didn't live up to my expectations. The film was rather dull in its handling of an interracial relationship in the 1950s-1960s. The main problem with the film being Joel Edgerton's drab, droll performance as Richard Loving. Ruth Negga starts out rather submissive, but as the film goes on, she really shines. It's an intriguing story, even if the film doesn't necessarily handle it all that well.
