1972 ***** 11 mins.
This early short film from the immensely talented Chantal Akerman consists of a single panning shot of a bedroom somewhere in New York City. At the center of the piece is Akerman herself, lying on a bed, staring back at us. The camera circles the room a couple of times, each time Akerman is doing something different. After a while, though, the camera movements change. Like her next film, Hotel Monterey, there is no audio on this short film. It's just a visually stunning and absorbing little film.
