I personally loved this film because child custody laws have always baffled me. This film appealed to me through and through, and it's a perfect example as to why the laws make no sense.
Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep play a couple freshly separated. She walks out on him, leaving him with their six-year-old son. Ted (Hoffman) has to learn to juggle a career and a son on his own. Once he gets a hold of things, Joanna (Streep) returns to get her son back. Great performances by the leads and an all too real story help this film be something great.
