1976 ***** 350 pages
It's hard to believe that this book was published in 1976. It still feels very fresh, and it's quite possibly, the greatest vampire novel ever written. Anne Rice's writing prowess shines through every page, her wonderful flourishes always welcome. Told from the point of view of a vampire named Louis to an unnamed interviewer, Interview with the Vampire is a beautifully told story of a vampire's entire life, unfolding over the course of about 200 years. It's a brilliantly conceived and written novel that has been rightfully cherished by all for many years, and hopefully it will be just as immortal, if not more so, than its characters.
