In the Mood for Love is a fascinating film; it's much more low-key than the other Wong Kar-Wai films I've seen. What makes the film so special, is it focuses on romance, not sexuality. The relationship between the two leads is very enthralling. At first, I wasn't taken by the repeating slow motion segments, but in retrospect, they really put a stamp on the film that defines it.
