Even though I wasn't as impressed by Hereditary as some critics, I will admit that you can't stop thinking about it after you watch it. Toni Collette delivers one of the best performances of her career as a mother whose life and family completely unravels in eerie, unforgettable ways. It's atmospheric and creepy, disturbing, and genuinely scary at times, but I completely disagree with Time Out New York's review that calls this film "This generation's The Exorcist." The Exorcist will always hold the title of the scariest film of all time. This day and age, we are too numb to scary films to be legitimately scared by them. Nothing could ever rival and power The Exorcist had when it premiered in 1973.
