Halsey's sophomore album doesn't quite hit all the right marks that Badlands hit. That's not to say that it's bad or doesn't have plenty of great music to offer. Far from it. It's still a very entertaining album with a lot of interesting elements. However, it seems as though Halsey was trying a little too hard with this album, maybe being a little too ambitious. It begins with her reciting the prologue from William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, immediately getting the album off to an interesting but confusing start. "Good Mourning" is an interesting interlude track that will get stuck in your head. The real highlight here is "Bad at Love." In true Halsey fashion, she has a lot to say, and once you're done jamming to your first listen, spin the disc again, and pay close attention to what she has to say.
