1998 **** 115 mins.

David Cronenberg strikes again with this profoundly disturbing film about twin gynecologists who share a strange psychological bond. Jeremy Irons is perfect in both roles, one a suave seducterer and the other very reserved and shy. As one of them falls in love with a patient, he begins to slip into madness as he becomes addicted to pills. The film spirals into uncontrollable madness in the second half, as the brothers' strange bond takes effect. Jeremy Irons's performances and Howard Shore's haunting music are the main highlights of this strange film.
