Beaches is a film that is appreciated more in retrospect than while actually watching. While watching it, it seemed to drone on forever, lacking proper focus. Once it was over, though, I wanted to watch it again because the characters created by Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey are adorable and lovable. The music is the real highlight of the film, of course, Bette Midler's incomparable voice empowering the songs to great heights, especially the unforgettable "Wind Beneath My Wings," which is sure to bring tears to your eyes.
